King Crab Safari

Join us for an unforgettable boat trip out onto Varangerfjord, with stunning views of the Arctic Barents Sea. This adventure is suitable for all ages and offers a close encounter with the wild nature on the very edge of the Arctic. Along the way, we have excellent chances of spotting spectacular marine mammals such as orcas, porpoises, beluga whales, humpback whales, and fin whales. Seals are also a frequent sight. In the skies above, look out for majestic white-tailed eagles and colourful puffins – known as “clowns of the sea” – along with a variety of other unique Arctic bird species.

Tour highlight

Catch, learn and feast on King Crab

The highlight of the trip comes when we haul up pots containing live king crabs. Your guide will share fascinating insights about the crab’s biology and history, and you’ll have the chance to take memorable photos with these impressive creatures – the perfect souvenir of your Arctic adventure. The king crabs are then prepared on board – boiled or steamed – and served with delicious accompaniments. To round off the experience, a glass of white wine (or mineral water if you prefer) is included. This is an experience that delights both the mind and the palate – true Arctic magic at sea!
